Things to do in the dark, during a hurricane when you're all alone with just your dog.
1. Tell scary stories to your dog. Make sure you include stories that are actually scary to him. Like the dog who ate a cooked chicken bone and his intestines split open. And the dog's whose owner made a wall hanging of him, after he tore out all his toys from his bin again.
2. Guess what object just hit your window. STICK! STONE! PATIO CHAIR!
3. Come up with elaborate plans as to what to do if people start turning into zombies during this storm. Start training your dog to detect zombies from miles away.
4. Snuggle
5. Pull out that old recorder instrument from third grade. Mary had a lit-tle lamb, lit-tle lamb, lit-tle lamb...
We're braving it out. It's supposed to hit here in about 10 hours, although we already have a lot of rain and wind and we've already lost power once.

hahaha. It's alway fun to fuck with a dogs head!
Wow hey do you have to board up the windows?
Hahaha thats funny.
ROFL. My dog hides some where with the cat when we have bad weather. I guess I could broadcast over my computer speakers.
Hope things go OK, stay safe!!
@amateurprose - lol, it is.
@MrTrololo - No but, because of the storm being so dark, it literally paralyzes the sunshine from making me any light. I live more inland, in south central Pa, so the winds are only coming in at 75 mph, instead of 95mph. So I have a far less chance of windows breaking.
@Erika_Steele - Broadcast. It's time doggies everywhere know the consequences of actions... we can subtly brainwash them into submission! :D
Stay safe! Personally, I think I'd prefer to just evacuate but then I'm not you. Maybe you like all the excitement? Please be safe anyway. It's good for you.
@MyPublicSite - Holy crap It almost never gets that windy here I'm not sure if it's ever got in the 70's!
@Ampbreia - Honestly, they haven't really given us the option to evacuate. I know that sounds weird, but we are literally right in the hurricane's path and they've set up designated shelters, but basically you're not supposed to go to them unless your hurt/sick, in danger of flooding, if your electrics been out for more then a few days and your heat drops below 65. They have evacuated quite a number of people in low lying flood areas, but I don't have the option to evacuate yet.
@MrTrololo - Yea, it's never gotten that windy here either, so we'll see. I have a walk in closet set up to stay in if I have to. But it's coming through at 2am and I'm like "I'm not going to be awake at 2am!"
@MyPublicSite - Definitely. They need to know that just because they are cute, they can't get away with doing whatever they want.
Stay safe ! And put that dog through a therapist as soon as the storm is over...he'll need it
@Erika_Steele - OMG what about the stuffed toy that was ripped apart and it came back from the dead and stole all his tennis balls. And then in the middle of the night you take a unstuffed toy and you place a bunch of tennis balls in it and you lay it next to the dog and start kackling till he wakes up.
@Want2FitIn2Fat2Fit - Yea it's entirely possible she may need it.
@MyPublicSite - You are making miss having a smart dog. The pomeranian is just not smart enough to get something like that. He would just wake up get in my lap and kiss me.
Ha ha, my dad's over there in NYC. Stay safe you lot, and please tell someone to look after my papa, cos his flight home got cancelled!
@chadwilly - O no! I hope your dad was okay! I'm sure he was. They did a lot preparing for this storm!
Good list! Sounds like you and the dog can keep yourselves entertained.
Let us know when you come out of the closet.
This was a cute post to read!
Stay safe! <3
@dingus6 - lol, I'm out
